Hello and welcome to Alex's Blog. This week I am giving a summary on this weekend's results in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and in particular to the riders that we sponsor! Yes, J&S Accessories Ltd actually sponsor riders now - you can find more out about that and who we sponsor in these blogs.....here and here.
After each race meet I will be doing a Blog with the results of our boys out on the field - this is the first of many. Watch this space!
Well , what a first round weekend that was! Shocking weather, schedule changes, shock winners and bike problems.
First up the BSB results in which our sponsored riders are Gino Rea and Luke Mossey. Gino started off so well with practice on Saturday and Sunday but a big crash at the start of qualifying on Sunday morning seemed to be the start of Gino's problems. He finished fourth in warm up but in the actual race he finished 15th - this secured him one point but its his first season in the 1000s so that is actually a great result. His fellow J&S Sponsored rider Luke Mossey finished a respectable 8th - a great start for our sponsered riders, I am sure they will both be looking to improve on their position but for week one they both have points under their belt. A great start.
In the first Dickies British Supersport 600 class race of the year our boy Ross Twyman had a podium finish, he came third. There were also top ten finishes for David Allingham in both races. Joe Francis had bike troubles in both races so he's hoping for better luck next time out - once his bike problems are sorted he'll be making his mark, we're sure of that.
Harry Truelove just finished outside the points in the first race but came back with a points finish in the second race. It was only the first race out of the season and nerves are high so its all still to play for. Its a marathon not a sprint.
In the superstock 1000 class there were podium finishes all over the shop for our sponsored riders!
A race win a piece for Billy McConnell and Andy Reid while Joe Collier had a 7th place finish in race one but then pulled it out of the bag for a 2nd place finish in race 2.
A massive well done to all of our sponsored riders from all of us here at J&S Accessories Ltd - we are all supporting you throughout our 30 stores nationwide. I'm surprised you didn't hear us all cheering you on at the weekend (maybe you did?)
If you missed the racing at the weekend you can catch the highlights from this weekends racing on ITV4 tonight at 8pm.
Now its onwards and upwards for Brands Hatch in a few weekends time. We're so excited that we've already got the race schedule ready:
In Thundersport GB news Ryan Farrell did us proud by winning the first race of the Thundersport GB at Donington Park. Well done Ryan Farrell!
Until next time, stay safe
