Based in Oudenaarde, Belgium, Richa was founded in 1952 by Charles Rigaux as a manufacturer of leather gloves.
In 1956 Charles' son Julien changed the company name by taking the first letters of the founder's name to become Richa.
During the late 60's and early 70's Richa used their high-end leather clothing manufacturing experience to expand into the motorcycle clothing market with a desire to provide the best possible motorcycle safety gear.
A testament to their quality was that Prince Albert of Belgium, an avid motorcyclist, was a regular visitor to the factory for his leather jackets.
Richa use the most superior technical products available, such as Gore-Tex membranes and D30 premium shock absorbing materials, to manufacture their products.
Richa's Research and Development team are constantly evaluating and testing new technologies and over the years have introduced the Knox SPS a unique scaphoid protector, the c_change waterproof membrane and SuperFabric which has tiny hard plates attached over the outer surface of the fabric.
As Richa rather lyrically say "A motorcycle is not only a joy machine or a best friend in daily traffic. Above all it is a machine of wonders, to be handled with care. On the road or in the dirt, once the engine has started, rider and bike are united: this is where you become equally important as the metal bird you're riding."
