HJC Motorcycle Helmets
A former member of the Korean Air Force, Mr. Wan Ki Hong, founded HJC Helmets in 1971, the name HJC is the initials of the company's full name Hong Jin Crown Corporation.
HJC Helmets are based in Seoul, South Korea where their R&D premises are equipped with a state-of-the-art wind tunnel testing laboratory to test for aerodynamics, noise, ventilation air flow, a facility which very few helmet companies have available on site.
A dedication to innovation and investment in Research & Development, HJC Helmets re-invest 10% of the company's revenue into R&D, has led to HJC selling its helmets in over 65 countries and becoming the largest manufacturer of motorcycle helmets in the world.
There are over 40 designers and engineers working on an extensive prototype testing regime to constantly fine-tune existing helmets and develop new models.
This programme resulted to the birth of the RPHA series in 2012, featuring HJC's Premium Integrated Matrix Plus (PIM+) construction for an extremely light weight shell with superior aerodynamics, advanced ventilation and comfort.
As well as the technical side of helmet production HJC are continually looking to improve the style and graphics of their helmets and in 2016 teamed up with Marvel, Star Wars and Disney-Pixar to bring some unique vivid helmet designs to the streets.
Each HJC helmet is hand-made by skilled workers in a process that has over 40 steps with every helmet inspected by quality control operators for defects at key stages.
HJC's rostra of race and MX riders: Andrea Iannone, Jonas Folger, Xavi Vierge, Mika Kallio, Jorge Navarro, Marcel Schrotter, Danny Kent, Philipp Öttl, Albert Arenas, Marcos Ramirez, Toni Elias, Roman Ramos, Marvin Fritz, Ben Spies, Nate Adams, Mike Alessi and Kyle Chisholm is testament to the quality of their helmets.
Today HJC's line-up includes full face, flip front modular, open face, off road and motocross helmets.
HJC is still a family run business with a desire for their helmets to be as innovative and stylish as possible, so HJC helmet fans can always look forward to something new and improved.
