In 2001, two motorcycle enthusiasts, Dom Longman and Michael Cottam, got together in Tarporley, Cheshire, to create high quality, well designed luggage for motorcycle riders.
The brand was originally called Krug, after Freddy Krueger, but was renamed Kriega shortly after the company received a Trade Mark infringement letter from Krug champagne.
From the first day the company’s ethos was to create the best designed, function driven, and highest quality motorcycle luggage available.
This philosophy of function driven design led to the development of Kriega’s unique rucksack Quadloc harness system; a parachute style entry with X-style straps which makes it easy to put on over motorcycle clothing, is stable at speed, gives freedom of movement when riding and transfers the load onto the chest so, no shoulder or neck ache.
Kriega have always asked the simple question “what do motorcyclists want from their luggage?” and the answer has always been; it needs to be lightweight, compact, waterproof, dustproof, soft, strong enough to take some punishment and easy to get on and off the bike.
Sticking to their ethos and listening to motorcyclists from all categories world-wide has resulted in Kriega expanding their range of motorcycle luggage with backpacks, rucksacks, messenger bags, waist packs, the US-Drypacks series of tail packs and tank bags and OS series of off-road adventure luggage. Needless to say, all Kriega luggage is universal fit.
Kriega are unique in that whilst their products are used in other sports, and have even been seen on TV, they remain a motorcycle company to the core. Their passion for creating the very best possible luggage options for motorcyclists is what drives them.
