Mandatory in MotoGP since 2018, modern motorcycle airbags have been developed by the main manufacturers with state-of-the-art active electronic systems and built in sensors, usually gyroscopic and accelerometric, which feed a central control unit with rider information, deploying the airbag automatically in the advent of an accident. The airbag system built is either built into the fabric of the garment or devised to be worn under compatible jackets or suits. If there is enough space for the bag to inflate you can use some airbags with your existing gear. Some manufacturers make airbags that can be worn over your current motorcycle clothing. Inflating automatically in the event of an accident the motorcycle airbag gives protection to the shoulders, chest, ribs and back.
