This is to replace an identical jacket that I have owned for at least 7 years. As it’s still waterproof after that long, I thought I’d just buy the same again. Only negative factor is the piece of Velcro that holds the collar across gets weak quite quickly and stops doing its job.

Reduced price because a newer was version released making this a good value purchase, however this jacket is better for me because the main central zip does up with my left hand which feels natural compared to the newer 'Andes V2' which has had the zipper system altered to the opposite side making it feel strange to do up. Don't know why Alpinestars changed this?

Had one of these for 3 years but the zip broke in an accident so had to replace it. Great jacket, used for 45mins commute in all weathers. Fully waterproof although noticed my old one was less so after 3 years of every day use - possibly a top up of water proofer would have sorted. Very well built jacket, useful pockets and very warm in all weathers. Have used in -2 degrees and with an extra layer on underneath was toasty. Good build quality too. It is warm in summer but I dont think there is any way round that. Previously had the yellow top half version which was great but looked pretty manly after 3 years from all the road detritus, hence buying black this time - am intending to buy a hi viz vest to put over the top which should also protect the jacket a bit more.
