Oxford Products Q15R Tank Bag - Black

I got this to replace the Q20R that i had returned due to its size and found many of the same problems. I got it for my Triumph Tiger 1200 XCX, and while the materials, zips, and locking mechanism all seem well-made and sturdy, the design is seriously flawed — it's a bad fit for my bike and potentially dangerous. Unlike on the Q20R, the map window is in a good position to be seen, but unfortunately it reflects any loft from the sky making it very difficult to see through it. I use my phone for Google maps and usually just have the voice calling out turns, but if I'm on an unfamiliar route I will use the display.. if i was more dependant on the screen, this bags window would make it very difficult. But for glancing to back up voice directions, it's passable. I mainly bought the bag to store spare gloves, waterproofs, and extra layers. But, like with the Q20R, even when it's empty, the bag sits so tall that it mostlyblocks my view of the bike’s instrument panel. It's difficult to see my speed and any other info unless I lean forward, which ruins my riding posture and compromises safety. Even worse, the base tray the bag mounts on is so wide that it interferes with the handlebar movement, even when even mounted on the base plate in the most rearward position. It limits turning by about 5% on either side, making tight turns or even regular junctions dangerous. In short: great build quality, but the design is completely unsuited to the Tiger 1200 and seriously affects safety. I can’t recommend it. I nearly kept it as viewing the speedo was almost not too inconvenient, but decided that safety was more important and donator settled for the Q4R.
