Hello and welcome to Alex's Blog! It's been a bit hectic here at J&S HQ (hence the lack of blog last week) despite the time of year.
After the last blog we all got our baking hats on for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning for MacMillan and our Oakmere store alone raised over £160.

Yes. They are Trios. Thats just how our Birmingham store roll. We had a lot of generous customers so thank you to everyone who took part, scoffed our cakes (and Trios) and donated to a fantastic cause.
In the meantime we have been very busy here at HQ with the online store. This time of year usually means colder days, rainier times and it quietens down for us, but not last week! This Indian summer has meant we have been extremely busy online and in store keeping up with all your orders.
This week, however, it has seemed to get a lot darker and a teensy bit colder. With this in mind I thought I would show you some hi-viz gear to keep you safe on your bike as the nights close in. Here are just a few of the hi-visibility items we sell:
Keep visible AND warm with the Frank Thomas Dri-Viz Claw Motorcycle Glove. This is constructed from Hypertec and full grain leather and features a 3 finger mitten design increases warmth which allows for 2 finger clutch and breaking, Hipora waterproof and breathable membrane lining, Thinsulate inter lining for superior warmth, leather palm with silicone printed Amara overlays, stretch panelling on back of hand for improved comfort and reflective inserts for improved visibility in low light.
This is ideal to keep stashed under your seat, or just wear all the time! The Frank Thomas Dri-Viz Fluoro VIZ017 Over vest is a zipped over vest in fluorescent fabric to help maximise rider visibility. This features reflective vertical panelling on the chest and across the back to help improve visibility in low light, stretch fabric panelling on the side for optimum fit and comfort, mesh panel in the back to ensure air flows through the garment and adjustability at the sides for a variable fit.
This is a simple way to be seen. The Oxford Products Bright Back Pack Cover is a universal stretch-fit waterproof cover for rucksacks with high visibility fluorescent and reflective materials. This waterproof is suitable for on the motorcycle or running/cycling etc, suits a wide range of backpacks up to 35 litres, is hi-vis and is compact when not in use. Ideal.
More and more helmets feature a fluorescent element nowadays, a perect example being the HJC RPHA ST Zaytun Fluorescent motorcycle helmet. This is a fully spec'd touring helmet constructed from a Premium Integrated Matrix (PIM), which incorporates three different materials; carbon fibre, aramid fibres and fibreglass. This creates a unique woven blend that produces a shell both remarkably strong, and noticeably lighter (1350g +/- 50g). Features include a super smooth, anti-allergenic wicking liner (SilverCool) which wicks moisture away from the skin, as well as a quick release, auto-locking visor system. The visor is also Pinlock Max Vision and includes the Pinlock insert in the box, as standard. In order to cope with sunny days, the RPHA ST is also fitted with an internal sun visor, Max air-flow top vent, double D ring retention system, fully removable and washable interior and a glasses groove to accommodate glasses reducing temple pressure.
