Show Us Your Lid

Hello and welcome to Alex's Blog. Last week I wrote about The evolution of the motorcycle helmet and it got us thinking here at J&S Accessories Ltd HQ about all of the weird and wonderful vintage motorcycle helmets that our customers and social media followers may have had over the years or have lying around at home.

Last year we launched the Frank Thomas Swap Gear Competition. The premise was quite simple really. You sent us pictures of you or your friend/family in old Frank Thomas kit, we posted them on to our social media sites for people to vote for their favourites and then we sent new Frank Thomas kit to the winners.

We got some great pictures of people in their old Frank Thomas kit; the winners got some brand-new kit to replace their old kit and everything was right with the world.

So, we have decided to do the same thing again, but this time we want to see pictures of your old (motorcycle) helmets!

The older the better, the weirder the better and we want to see old race replicas. The more exotic the better. Do you have a coveted early Carl Fogarty replica? Send us a pic! Do you have an early Arai? Send us a pic! Did you used to think you were the bee's knees in your Randy Imola replica? Send us a pic! All pictures welcome. New and old.

It is very easy to enter. All you have to do is send us a picture of your old helmet, the more vintage the better, race replicas I am sure will be of particular interest. I will be showcasing some of the entries in the coming weeks on my blog.

Any stories you have to go along with your entries will also be welcome - it's entirely up to you. Please be aware that these pictures will be shared on our social media sites so please do not send us pictures if you are not ok with them being shared.

You have until April 5th to enter so don't panic if you haven't got a picture yet, you can dust off your old lid and get snapping! You can either send your entries to us via e-mail at: enquiries@jsaccessories.net or enter via our�Twitter or Facebook pages. The more entries the merrier! Good luck!

The prize is a brand new HJC RPHA 70 motorcycle helmet worth up to a whopping £359.99 in the size and colour of your choice.

We absolutely do not endorse wearing older helmets, especially vintage helmets and strongly discourage this. We realise a lot of you will still have a lot of your old, beloved, helmets for nostalgic purposes only as we know you bikers are a sentimental bunch - hence this competition.
