Hello and welcome to Alex's blog. This week I thought we would look at the lighter side of the year with some questionable statements and comments we have had from our customers in our 30 stores.

We've all been there, opening mouth before engaging brain, but here are some classics – a big thanks to all our customers who kindly let us share these.

Helmets
❄ Does the writing come off the visor?
❄ There is a problem with my helmet, my visor is all blurry.
❄ Sorry I just bought this helmet, but I can't see anything through it.
- Have you removed the protective film / information sticker off your new helmet's visor?
❄ I've put a bit of paint thinner on my visor and it's gone cloudy, is it meant to do that?
❄ Is there a clear pinlock? I don't like the yellow one.
❄ I dropped my helmet and it's cracked, can you send it back as it shouldn't do that, it must be a warranty thing.
❄ Does this fit me or is it too tight?
❄ Why does my visor fall down when I go on the motorway?
❄ Why does my helmet let rain in when the visor's open?
❄ I bought an open face helmet from you and now I get really cold when I'm on my bike, can I bring it back and swap it please
❄ Do they do convertible helmets?
❄ Why does my helmet hurt when it rubs up against my bike bag?
❄ It's OK, they just need to wear a helmet, the bike only does 30mph.
❄ I've Just washed my helmet in the dishwasher and it's melted – what are you going to do about it?
❄ Can I drill a hole in the back of my helmet to put a press stud on?
❄ Do you have a helmet that will fit inside my beaver? - to be fair, the customer did want to wear a beaver costume over their gear.
❄ Would you like to swap a frozen chicken for a helmet?
❄ I've just spent £10,000 on a new R1 and need a new helmet, what's the cheapest one you have got please - I can stretch to about £50?

Clothing
☃ I was on your website the other day and you had a jacket, where is it? - Which jacket sir? - The one on your website.
☃ Does my Bum look big in this? (I know, but we do get asked – a lot!)
☃ Is this jacket waterproof, without the waterproof liner?
☃ I have a large girth, will those leggings fit me?
☃ Customer puts on leather suit and stretches up, down and all around. Are we planning on doing yoga while on the bike Sir?
☃ If I wear a belt, will it stop my tallywacker from slapping the tank?
☃ I'd like to return these Kevlar jeans, they're too jeany.
☃ Can you order in all sizes of Jackets for me to try and then I'll just order the one I want online?
☃ Do you know if anywhere else sells this jacket cheaper?
☃ What size is 2XL?

Boots
❄ Why are my waterproof boots are leaking? Because you have your waterproof trousers tucked in to your boots sir.
❄ These Boots aren't the size they say they are, I'm a 9 and they don't fit! Try putting them on the right feet sir.

Gloves
☃ Why do these waterproof gloves leak? Because you have the glove's cuff over your jacket sleeve sir.
☃ Are these summer mesh gloves waterproof?
☃ Can I have a free replacement pair of gloves, the bad stitching in these ones made me lose a race?

Accessories
❄ We have lost the keys to our Oxford lock, have you one of those special tools that opens any lock?
❄ Will this bike cleaner clean my bike?
❄ How do I discharge these fluids from my big tank?

Telephone calls/questions
☃ Have you got my size helmet in? What size are you sir? Oh, I don't know.
☃ Good morning J&S how can we help? Hi, are you open today?

Miscellaneous
❄ Where do you keep your beds? (Our J&S Newcastle Store was previously a Bed Shed)
❄ Can you price match everything I want please? I've seen the kit online so much cheaper. But it's from Hong Kong sir? Yes, that's right, but if it's online, it's basically the same as being local isn't it?
❄ Are you able to price match your own website?
❄ Do you have a left wing mirror for a Vauxhall Corsa? No, we're a motorcycle clothing store sir. Yeah, I know, I thought I'd ask anyways.
❄ Hi, is that the old Hansel and Gretel shop? Some of our stores used to be Hein Gericke shops years ago.
