Alpinestars Andes Drystar Jacket

The Alpinestars Andes Drystar was such an impressive jacket that sold really well so we decided to get this remade by Alpinestars but exclusive to J&S Accessories Ltd - so you can only buy them from us!

Safety

Made from an advanced reinforced poly-fabric textile, the Alpinestars Andes Drystar Jacket is highly impact-resistant with reinforced polymer-printed texturing in critical elbow and lower arm areas for added abrasion resistance. Removable CE-certified Bio-Armour elbow and shoulder protectors are a very obvious safety feature plus the Andes jacket comes with chest and back pad compartments with poly-foam padding (CE-certified Bio-Armour back protector insert available as accessory) as well as integrated reflective graphic details and logos to improve rider visibility in varying light conditions.

Styling

The Andes Drystar jacket is very understated in its styling. A classic black with Alpinestars logos in handy reflective print gives a subtle nod to hi-viz. This is also highly practical and versatile in its design with lots of handy pockets, some waterproof, as well as removable inner jacket and adjustability throughout. The look is very much one geared towards touring.

Comfort

Designed for all weathers, the Alpinestars Andes Drystar jacket has zipped shoulder air intakes and back exhaust vents for internal climate control and enhanced riding comfort, and these can be closed and opened at your convenience. A removable long-sleeve thermal liner gives added warmth and comfort in colder weather. Pre-contoured sleeves with stretch panels on elbows give extra comfort when riding and upper sleeve volume adjustment and waist adjustment belt gives a highly customisable fit. The integrated soft edge collar construction and soft material at the cuffs also provide more comfort.

Practicality

This is a very practical jacket. Designed for all seasons and extremely adaptable to all weather conditions. 100% waterproofing and great levels of breathability as well as zipped shoulder air intakes and back exhaust vents give internal climate control and enhanced riding comfort. The removable (and washable) long-sleeve thermal liner adds to the versatility. This also offers an Alpinestars waist connection zip to connect to Alpinestars trousers as well as upper chest zipped hand pockets, large front waterproof cargo pockets, large, external, a utility pocket on the lower back of jacket plus waterproof internal pockets and a wallet pocket. A premium YKK zip with double sliders at the main front closure offers adaptable and secure convenience, plus non-aggressive micro-Velcro for a personalised closure for any conditions.

Negatives

One negative is that this doesn't come with a CE approved back protector - it comes with foam padding and a back protector pocket. You can, however, purchase the CE approved Alpinestars Nucleon KR-2I protector upgrade from us no problem at all. Another downside, which is a plus for a lot of people, is the colour. As Henry Ford famously said, "You can have any colour as long as it's black". Not the most visible of colours BUT Alpinestars have cleverly integrated reflective detailing to add hi-viz detailing while keeping the subtlety of the design so this does benefit from being reflective in poor light.
