Safety

The Alpinestars SMX-6 V2 motorcycle boots are sports touring boots made from Microfibre for durability and abrasion resistance. Ideally suited to track days because of the high levels of safety features, they offer TPU lateral ankle brace for support between calf, shin and ankle that provide impact shock protection. Other safety features include a TPU injected shin guard, calf protector, heel counter, shift pad, ankle brace and toe sliders as well as a double density ankle protector on the medial side. There is also an internal insole with shank reinforcement for extra impact protection. Comprehensive coverage for your whole foot, ankle and shins.

Styling

Alpinestars have successfully created a sports-touring boot that transitions well to either style of riding. Despite a plethora of safety features the SMX-6 V2 boots are extremely comfortable without compromising on aesthetics. Practicality

The design incorporates innovative front and rear bellow zones for flexibility and superior movement. The SMX-6 V2 offers medial side entry opening with elastically mounted zip and wide Velcro closure for ease of entry and exit as well as variable sizing for wider calves. A breathable textile interior with suede anti-slide keeps your foot in position for better protection. Air vents on the heel counter and shin plate mean the SMX-6 V2 offers superior airflow - ideal for track days! The Alpinestars compound rubber sole provides improved grip, water dispersion and durability for sure-footing. There is also plenty of movement with instep and Achilles accordion flex zone for superior movement in all riding positions - and off the bike!

Comfort

The design incorporates innovative front and rear bellow zones for flexibility with plenty of movement because of instep and Achilles accordion flex zones. Air vents on the heel counter and shin plate give air circulation to keep you comfortable. The breathable liner keeps your feet free from sweat. The footbed is a removable anatomic footbed with EVA and Lycra for added comfort. Comfortable for riding and for walking.

Negatives

The only real negative about these boots is the fact that you need an Allen key to remove/install the toe-sliders. To be honest this isn't a deal-breaker but you do need to remember to bring an Allen key when you go on track days/trips away etc otherwise you're a bit stuck. Luckily 99.9% of bikers have a range of Allen keys already!

Verdict
