Safety
Approved to CE Certification rating A, the IOM TT Team jacket features CE level 1 shoulder and elbow armour. This armour is also removable and lightweight. A highly durable Maxtex construction with Coates bonded Nylon thread at the triple-stitched seams gives maximum abrasion resistance without bulkiness.
Styling
The style of this jacket is quite possibly the most vital selling point. It is branded with the official Isle of Man TT logo, Arai helmets logo, RST logo and Motul logo. All of which are well-loved and highly respected brands in the motorcycle industry – each with its fans! wIt features both a short sporty and fashionable retro design. Contrasting white detailing provides maximum visibility as well as a compelling monochromatic aesthetic. A large IOM TT logo at the rear finishes the styling off nicely. The logos are embroidered for that little bit extra premium quality. The Isle of Man TT fully endorses this jacket – a strong selling point for sure.
Comfort
The Team jacket is ultra-lightweight with a quilted lining for a comfortable ride. Adjustability at the arms and base give a personalised and variable fit. The collar is made from comfy fabric to avoid any irritants when riding, and this is fully waterproof with a fixed Sinaqua lining to keep you dry in all weathers. Fixed mesh lining over the armoured pockets provides enhanced air circulation to keep you feeling fresh and stop unwanted sweating.
Practicality
The RST Isle of Man TT Team jacket is fully waterproof with a breathable and waterproof fixed Sinaqua lining. Max zips throughout ensure confidence in the closure system. It comes with three inner pockets and two outer pockets for ample storage. A fixed comfort mesh lining keeps you fresh, and a 360-degree connection zip fits any RST trousers. The Team jacket has adjustability at the arms for variable sizing and a comfortable ride. The armour is fully removable, meaning you can wash this jacket – either in a sink or even in a washing machine. Please ensure you follow the washing instructions.
Negatives
The lining isn't removable, which could be a pain in sweltering weather – not that we get much of that here! While the Team jacket has a back protector pocket, no back protector is included with the jacket. Be aware of this before purchasing as you will need to invest in a back protector – if you have a strap-on back protector, you may want to check it fits first. A sportier short styling isn't for everyone, and while the rear is elongated to prevent wind ingress, if you're tall or don't have RST trousers to zip it to, you may have some unwelcome drafts.
Verdict
The RST TT Team jacket is perfectly good. It is stylish, waterproof and fits well. It doesn't have all the whistles and bells of other jackets but what it does have is the endorsement of some big brands with retro sports styling – a very irresistible mix!
