Safety

The RST R-Sport CE Leather Motorcycle Jacket has a CE Certification rating of AA. In addition, this has a CE level 1 back protector, shoulder and elbow armour, and TPU shoulder cups for added protection. The R-Sport is made from highly durable cowhide leather with Samtex stretch panels and leather stretch panels for added movement and comfort in the riding position. The seams are triple stitched with Thread Coates bonded Nylon for maximum impact resistance. Premium Max zips are used throughout for ultra-secure closure.

Styling

It is a sports style jacket but doesn't feature a racing hump - so it can adapt to touring well. The shorter sports styling looks great with a longer rear for added comfort. It is available in two colours: Black and Black and White with matching trousers also available. The R-Sport isn't too flashy in its aesthetic; it features subtle RST branding and sleek lines throughout for a streamlined look. Plastic protectors to the jacket's exterior at the shoulders also feature RST branding and subtle vents incorporated into the design to give a minimal look but with maximum function.

Comfort

A removable thermal gilet gives added warmth if need be, along with a fixed comfort mesh lining to keep you fresh in all seasons. Perforated panels at the front provide extensive air circulation, as do vent at the shoulders. Neoprene cuffs and collar give a soft feel against the skin, and adjustability at the waist with Velcro straps and accordion leather detailing provides the perfect fit. Stretch panels in key areas give added movement and superior comfort in the riding position.

Practicality

The R-Sport CE jacket is CE certified to AA and comes with a CE approved back protector, shoulder and elbow protectors. In addition, it offers a removable quilted thermal gilet for added warmth and comfort in colder conditions and perforated front panels for ventilation and vents at the shoulders for added comfort in warmer conditions. The rear is longer to prevent weather ingress and a 360-degree zip to connect to matching trousers creates added protection. The base of the jacket is fully adjustable with stretch for the perfect personalised fit, plus the freedom of movement in the riding position. Stretch panels in the arm also provide added movement. This also has 3 inner pockets and 2 outer pockets and has matching jeans available.

Negative

Despite a large amount of perforation and the nicely styled ventilation on the outer protectors, the R-Sport doesn't actually feature any exhaust vents. This isn't a huge problem, but it could mean a bit of billowing at extremely high speeds - which you shouldn't be doing on UK roads anyway! Plus, with the right size jacket, this will not happen! It would be a useful addition, though. There is no aerodynamic speed hump at the rear - for some, this will be positive, but others may prefer one. Personally, we don't think this is a bad thing as this is a great sports jacket regardless.

Verdict

The R-Sport CE leather jacket offers excellent value for money. It offers a lot of features for the price, and it looks great. RST has designed a great jacket and thought about the look as well as the practicalities. Available in-store and online NOW!
