Ride Nepal is just as exciting as it sounds! Ride Nepal is a company offering motorcycle tours (and more) to Nepal and Tibet and they organise every single detail so you don't have to.
About Ride Nepal
There are many trips on offer from Ride Nepal, with varying conditions on each - as well as differing weathers and different altitudes and climates all on the one trip! In order to ride in the Himalayas, you need to be able to endure all sorts of conditions - which is why we are delighted that Ride Nepal agreed to a partnership with us here at J&S Accessories Ltd and wear our kit! The ultimate test! (and the ultimate endorsement!)
They offer packages with a difference. They have one foot in Nepal and one foot in the UK. Not only do they plan motorcycle tours and tailor-made trips to Nepal and Tibet but they are also the operator who arranges everything for you on the ground. No handing over to another operator, they are the operator. They take care of you from your arrival at Kathmandu airport until your point of departure. Plus they offer face to face appointments if you are in the UK. And are available to talk on WhatsApp to anyone, anywhere in the world!
The Ride Nepal team are different because they are committed to helping sustain the tourism industry in the Himalayas (which is particularly important right now) and help provide local employment. They are mindful of the Himalayan environment and only take limited group sizes to the mountains to ensure the only thing left behind are footprints. The smaller groupings also give you a more intimate, personalised feel to your trip.
The team consists of three members. Udaya, Grace and Takeshi. Udaya who was born in Nepal and has an extensive range of connections across the country. With many journeys both on a motorbike and on foot with his friends, colleagues and clients in Nepal, he has a passion for travel and adventure. He will be your guide on both motorcycle tours and remote treks in Nepal.
Grace is a Nepal expert in her own right and has travelled the length and breadth of the country both on foot and by motorbike. As well as working to make your trip to Nepal a great experience, she is your first contact in the UK for help with flight tickets, visas, vaccinations, (or simply what to pack!) via phone or email.
Takeshi holds the unique title of the first Japanese man to be born in Nepal. With over 30 years of experience in the Hospitality & Tourism sector in Nepal, he brings valuable knowledge and experience to the team. Takeshi is an expert guide who helps to make your time in Nepal unforgettable.
What kit does the Ride Nepal team wear?
BKS A10-18 Dragon Gloves
Made from highly supple leather, the BKS Dragon gloves are ideal for riding in the Himalayas thanks to perforated detailing in key areas for superior airflow. Armour at the knuckles, top of hands and palms as well as padding at the fingers and palm provide abrasion resistance. Accordion detailing gives freedom of movement, which is essential for trips to Nepal and back!
BKS Short ADV Boots
The shorter styling of the BKS Short ADV boots gives the Ride Nepal team extra-movement for difficult terrain and makes them more lightweight than longer boots. A rubber sole means these are extremely durable and offer fantastic levels of grip - just what you need when you're climbing the Himalayas! Another handy feature is they are also waterproof with double stitching and added protection throughout.
BKS Storm WP Boots
Another waterproof boot with a waterproof membrane, the BKS Storm WP boot is made from premium grade leather. Their durable construction makes them ideal for the hardworking Ride Nepal team - they certainly put them to the test. Elasticised areas provide great movement and the inner boots provide a comfortable ride for long periods.
Frank Thomas Navigator Jacket
Aptly titled, the Frank Thomas Navigator jacket is designed specifically for touring. The Navigator jacket is truly versatile and suitable for all conditions - ideally for changing climates on the one ride! A removable quilted thermal liner, removable waterproof liner and clever zipped air intake panels mean you can tailor this jacket to your own personal needs. Adjustability throughout provides a fantastic fit and CE approved armour give added protection.
Frank Thomas Sahara Mesh Gloves
As the Ride Nepal team encounter a lot of warmer weather, they need gloves that will keep them comfortable. The Frank Thomas Sahara Mesh gloves not only feature mesh panelling for optimum air circulation, but they also have carbon effect knuckle protectors and added grip at the palm. A short-cuff means they don't impede movement - ultra-handy for scaling difficult mountain roads!
Red Route Modica Denim Jeans
Aramid lining in vulnerable areas along with CE approved armour make the Red Route RED017 Modica jeans highly protective. The denim construction and added stretch to the fabric provide the ultimate in comfort and movement. Ideal for on and off the bike - perfect for a long trip touring the Himalayas! Actually, these are also perfect for a trip to the supermarket in the UK too! Ultra-versatile these transition from the bike, to the streets, to the mountains effortlessly! Available in a choice of colours.
