The Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 PLASMA Airbag System is designed to fit seamlessly under a jacket, ensuring a supremely comfortable and adaptive fit. The System’s ultra-slim profile delivers an “invisible under the jacket” feel, offering unrestricted movement while providing advanced protection for an enhanced riding experience. It gives comprehensive upper body coverage, including the chest, ribs, back, and shoulders, while featuring a PLASMA back protector for the optimal blend of comfort, flexibility, airflow, and rider protection, with a newly developed algorithm supporting three distinct Riding Modes—STREET, OFF-ROAD, and RACE—the Tech-Air 5 PLASMA is a single-charge deployment Airbag System with a user-replaceable gas canister for continued protection on every ride. It weighs just 1,530 g—the lightest system to date. A minimalist moisture-wicking material construction with an ultra-slim fit, made from full-stretch fabric with built-in airflow, offers superior movement without compromising protection. It comes with an integrated Alpinestars Nucleon PLASMA back protector and Alpinestars' all-new single-canister design, which reduces weight, enables faster inflation, and simplifies servicing for a quick turnaround. The Tech-Air 5 PLASMA system features a quick-release cover for Rapid Gas Inflator Replacement, giving easy access and offering up to 30 hours of battery life. Available in eight sizes from XS to 4XL. The PLASMA offers three riding modes: Street, Off-Road, and Race, which can be easily switched by pressing the LED display button for two seconds. A solid green LED shows active Riding Mode, and a short vibration confirms mode change. The system activates automatically when zipped via an internal magnetic sensor. The Tech-Air 5 PLASMA System and all the included protective parts are Category II certified PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) under European Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and in compliance with corresponding UK legislation. The passive back protector is CE certified according to EN 1621-2:2014, Level 1 (Full Back). The inflatable protector is CE certified according to EN 1621-4:2013 Level 1 (Full Back). The System is CE certified as a protective garment for motorcycle riders, according to EN 17092-6:2020, as a Class C undergarment. Airbag Deployments: The airbag is certified for up to six deployments before requiring replacement.
