Safety
The FT39SV  is compliant with safety standard ECER2205, the road safety standard necessary to use on UK (and all European) roads. The polycarbonate shell is strong whilst being lightweight to prevent wind fatigue. The safety strap is a very easy to use but ultra-reliable, micro ratchet retention strap that is fully adjustable for the perfect fit. An internal sun-visor prevents sun glare from impeding your vision.
Styling
The FT39SV is available in a wide range of colourways from dinosaurs , to zombies , to leopard print , plus many more! It also boasts a famous graphic designer: Franzan design . Renowned for their helmet designs, they put their expertise into the FT39SV Again, there is plenty of choice with 33 colourways available - including plain colours. The shell itself features an aggressive aerodynamic design - easy on the eye and easy on your neck!
Comfort
As mentioned before, the shell of the FT39SV is ultra-lightweight in an aggressive shape for optimum aerodynamics and comfort at higher speeds. A personalised ventilation system with sealable vents and exhausts provides optimum air circulation for superior comfort. The comfort lining is mesh lined to keep you fresh and is fully removable and washable. The clear anti-scratch visor is quick-release for added convenience, and this also comes with a retractable internal sun visor to prevent sun glare. The sun visor comes down nice and low and is operated with an easy-access button at the side, easy to use with your gloves on! The micro-ratchet retention strap is safe and easily adjustable.
Practicality
The drop-down sun visor has an easy-access button at the side which is easy to operate while wearing your gloves. The adjustability of the micro-ratchet strap provides an excellent fit for all, and the ventilation system can be fully personalised. The anti-scratch visor is quick-release and extremely easy to change. Another convenient feature is the lining is mesh lined and fully removable and washable. It also has recesses for speakers, which more premium helmets, such as the HJC C70, doesn't!
Negatives
A polycarbonate shell, although lightweight, is not as light or as strong as more premium shells such as fibreglass - but what do you expect for the money? The smaller sizes can come up a little large - it is worth trying to make sure this fits you well.
Verdict
With a HUGE choice of colour options available at a great price, the Frank Thomas FT39SV is a fantastic helmet - an integrated sun visor and micro ratchet retention system, as well as a sophisticated ventilation system, make the FT39SV a surefire winner.
