Alpinestars Copper Motorcycle Gloves

Safety

The Alpinestars Copper gloves are lightweight, but that doesn't mean they aren't protective. CE Level 1 hard knuckle protectors and padding at the fingers and palms give ample protection for impact resistance. An added layer for grip at the palm is an extra layer for abrasion resistance. The hook and loop strap closure is ultra-secure and provides the perfect fit, meaning these gloves aren't going anywhere!

Styling

Sleek and stylish, as you would expect from Alpinestars, the Copper gloves feature a short cuff design with a muted monochrome colourway. The muted design can be paired with any colourway given the mostly black colourway - ideal for bright colours or more muted. Two Alpinestars logos adorn the copper glove made from reflective material so as not to risk the aesthetic of the gloves but still maximising night visibility - typical Alpinestars - functional yet fashionable.

Comfort

The Copper gloves feature outstanding airflow thanks to perforation in key areas. The fabric used in the construction of these gloves is ultra-stretchy for greater freedom of movement, especially comfortable riding. The fingers are ergonomically shaped for a comfortable fit with accordion detailing for superior comfort. The hook and loop adjustment creates a personalised, and therefore comfortable fit. All the seams are away from the fingers for truly comfortable wear. The short cuff styling is not only fashionable, but it has also become prevalent in the motorcycle world because this makes gloves less bulky, so it is fast becoming the preferred styling of a large proportion of bikers.

Practicality

The stretch fabric and accordion detailing throughout gives great movement for superior practicality. The fact that the Alpinestars branding is also reflective is another practical detail, along with perforation in necessary areas for optimum airflow. A pull tab at the glove base makes these easier to get on and off whilst wearing gloves and is a convenient addition. Added grip at the palm gives a more responsive ride, and the hook and loop cuff is adjustable for a truly personalised fit.

Negatives

I may be clutching at straws here, but one negative is that the palm is not leather. It is suede, which can degrade over time - although if looked after properly, this should not be the case. Suede also has a better feel and grip for a more responsive ride - but leather is more durable. The armoured knuckles are CE approved to CE level 1, which is great, but CE 2 is the higher level of approval.

Verdict

A fantastic pair of summer gloves. Comfortable, lightweight and protective with superior airflow - you can't go wrong with Alpinestars.

Until next time, stay safe,

Alex
