Red Route Lynx AAA CE Denim Jeans

The Red Route RED018 Lynx denim motorcycle jeans are touted as jeans that can be worn on or off the motorcycle - with removable CE approved armour and casual styling. This product review explores what they have to offer.

Safety

First and foremost, the RED018 Lynx jeans are CE AAA Certified with CE approved armour at the knees. Memory foam padding at the hips can be upgraded to CE approved armour easily. Aramid panelling in key abrasion zones provides added protection to the durable premium denim construction.

Styling

Designed to look like classic casual jeans, the Lynx AAA CE jeans transition from the bike to the street easily without compromising protection. These feature a fashionable straight leg with accordion stretch detailing for added movement and a classic five-pocket design with button closure with zipping fly. The accordion detailing in key areas is subtle to not distract from the "normal" look of the jean. The contrast stitching is reinforced but is also in keeping with the traditional jeans aesthetic. The Lynx jeans are available in two stylish colours - black and blue .

Comfort

Possibly the best feature of these jeans is the superior levels of comfort they offer. Added stretch in the Lynx jeans gives great movement on and off the bike and makes them extremely easy - and comfortable - to wear! The accordion detailing at the rear and knees also helps with the movement. A mesh lining throughout keeps you fresh in all climates, and the CE approved armour at the knees is removable. Pockets in the usual jeans positions also provide comfort from familiarity - pockets in "weird" places in other clothing has not been a popular choice for our customers in the past!

Practicality

The high rear prevents wind/weather ingress for a comfortable ride, and belt loops mean you can wear a belt like you normally would with jeans. The Lynx jeans come in two leg lengths, regular and short, and the slim leg not only makes them look good but mean your lower legs aren't disturbed with unnecessary fabric flapping in the wind. Pockets for armour at the knees and hips give effortless removal and insertion - plus, these are fully machine washable despite the aramidic protective material - which is another practical feature, especially in an impact!

Negatives

Firstly the Lynx jeans are not waterproof - but waterproof denim isn't a common occurrence. The only other problem we found with these jeans is the positioning of the pockets. Due to the accordion detail at the rear, the pockets do look quite low. It isn't the worlds biggest problem, and once on, they look great, but it has been a bugbear of some customers. It is solely an aesthetics issue and not a problem with storage or comfort.

Verdict

A fashionable and protective pair of jeans that are extremely comfortable to wear on and off the bike due to the accordion detailing and stretch denim. The Red Route Lynx jeans are even more tempting with the current money off too!
