Motorcycle sports or race boots are designed specifically for the track with high performance rides in mind. These boots have a narrower profile, essential for high speed cornering, and the inside of the boot is flat, ensuring contact between bike and rider. Incredible protection is provided by more rigid areas in the heel and sole. There is also usually additional external protection on the shin, ankle and toe. Motorcycle race boots often have air inlets in the instep or shin areas, with the outlets on the heel or calf for ventilation.
