Cardo Freecom 4X Duo

Oh, so impressed with these! Bought for hubby’s birthday present, read all the reviews and crossed my fingers! We were not disappointed, left the instructions with him, and had a test ride to see how well it worked. All I can say is absolutely blown away by the sound quality’s d lack of interference from anything around us. Could hear each other so clearly, was like having my bike test all over again! Apparently they were very easy to attach to our crash helmets, mine is stuck on the outside whilst his is gripped on the underneath of his. Both seem to be absolutely fine. Charging the units up doesn’t take long, and once the app is installed on the phone, it’s a doddle to get the units to pair up ready to go. They can both run off one persons phone, so that does make life easier, as it leaves another phone ready if needed. No issues at all, stayed connected for the entirety of a long morning ride out. We both went different ways home to test what happened when they became out of range. The units tried to find each other for quite a while before announcing that they were not able to connect and shut down. This is reassuring as if we were apart for a short time, we know the units would reconnect as soon as they were within range again. So that’s a very good sign. I would say, although this unit is on the pricey side, I’d say it’s definitely worth it for quality of this product. I would definitely recommend this.

The Cardo freedom 4 duo is relatively easy to set up even for a non tech person as myself. Once the app is installed on your phone you can do the necessary initial update and start. The range is good the sound quality also, and I would highly recommend if you are touring with one or another rider. The only slight issue was with receiving a phone call as sometimes the Cardo voice control would not work. Not a problem as I used Siri and it is an intercom primarily which works very well. The speakers are as good as everyone says they are especially for music, but the higher your speed ie, on the motorways, the more background noise you will have. We rode in heavy rain most of the day and both units performed faultlessly. Simple to attach and detach from your helmet and the charge holds up very well. Purchased as a safety measure initially, as previously had an incident which could have been avoided if both riders were in communication. The benefits for us more senior riders are numerous and good fun for some of those more interesting events that occur.
